Tea is Soothing, I Wish to be Tense

Just had to throw this picture into the ring and mention that I’m a huge Buffy nerd ๐Ÿ˜‰

Big C and I have been fighting off throat infections/colds/somesortofthroatdisease for the last couple of days. His weapon of choice is hot chocolate and cough medicine which sounds gross, I know, but is actually quite effective for him. I, on the other hand, am still nursing Little C so no medicine for me, just tea and coffee. I know that there are ladies out there that LOVE TEA SO MUCH and since it looks so soothing I try to emulate them and their fondness for tea, I really do. But honestly, I only gravitate toward tea when I’m feeling under the weather. I’m not sure why, since I love going to David’s Tea to sniff out crazy-yet-awesome combinations and have a whole shelf in my cupboard devoted to all things tea.ย

But, and at the risk of sounding completely silly, my heart belongs to coffee. I’m not sure what it is about coffee beans that I love so much, I can’t resist it! I think it’s the whole cafe culture that appeals to me. The warm colours, the bitter smells, the fancy syrups and frothing milk. The cute cups and mugs, the whir of the machines. It’s just…neat. So near and dear to my over-all aesthetic and view on life.

I should also mention that as a new mom, caffeine is my best friend. Lately Little C has been waking up in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason, and since my husband has to be at work for 8am and I’m at home all day, guess who’s stuck getting the baby back to sleep? Moi, that’s who. So, coffee and tea sometimes act like my very own uppers and downers ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not that I’m a fanatic! A cup or 2 is plenty to get the day started, and I love a cup or two in the afternoon to kick away the 3pm lull. Even out of the office this time of day can drag on (and on and on) and caffeine seems to do the trick for me. I love experimenting with new drinks and enjoy the whole process. Like a tea ritual, but with coffee ๐Ÿ˜‰

See you next time, xoxo

P.S. David’s Tea now has a line of tea that can help you fight off colds and the flu, you can find them at your local store or order them online here!
